Is it me, or are you starting to see “spacers” a lot more often as a way to position content?

I had thought spacers went the way of the dinosaurs, but I’m starting to see Themes come packed with them, and a few of the freelancers I work with are using them. I’ve only ever used them in very unique situations – and not for a long time. Have attitudes shifted?
