Thank you for the suggestion, at this time the only option to achieve something similar to that is to use a plugin that allows you to edit user roles (for example: .
WPCode comes with 2 custom permissions: wpcode_edit_snippets and wpcode_activate_snippets and you can use the first one to allow certain user roles to edit snippets and but not activate them.
Unfortunately, there’s no option at this time to limit the type of snippet (php,js,etc.) that can be edited by user role but I have made a note to look into adding more granular control in a future version.
