Hi all!
I’m looking to hire a VA to help me with a minor issue with my site- the changes I’m making on my site isn’t getting reflected on the actual [site. It]) says it’s been saved and published on WordPress but when I visit the site as a visitor, the changes aren’t getting reflected. I have decided on hiring a VA to help me solve this issue. They are asking for admin access and I’m afraid that they’ll delete me out of my own site. I don’t know if this is even possible? but is there a way I can give them access to see the back end but not have them have access to the users?

Why would anyone delete you out of your site?
If you have access to the hosting server you can’t get locked out.
There are a couple of options, but the short answer is that a developer will need full access to the site, which means that you have to trust them. It’s basically like taking your car to the mechanic–there’s no way to stop them from taking it on a joyride beyond finding a reputable mechanic (yes you can sue later or whatever, but stick with the metaphor).
Like someone else said, there’s a difference between access to your site and access to your server–if you have access to the server (in particular your database), then you can recover access to your site even if you’re locked out. Be aware that your developer might need server access too*, though, so again be sure you trust them.
* I’m speaking in broad terms–they probably won’t need server access for this, but if you’re working with external developers, then someone will eventually
Your issue sounds like a caching plugin though. Clear your cache.
Honestly, This is a bit trust issue and you need to make sure by asking for a Portfolio your virtual assistant has already worked on.
ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO WORDPRESS, you would not believe the number of people that have either built 0 sites or have built 1 site with a theme and a starter template that go around masquerading as WordPress Developers.
