First of all, I prefer WordPress dot org (self hosted) because of the control you have over your content.
But of course there are more alternatives such as Medium, LinkedIn, Tumblr, even WP dot com, etc.
I believe it depends on what you are trying to accomplish or your choice to pay or not and even expertise on any of the platforms or skill level.
Blogging and websites are changing especially with AI content but the choice is really up to you.

There are a ton on alternative CRMs – all just a simple Google away.
What is the point of your question?
It depends on your goals. I have been encouraging local businesses to go with static websites. Every business needs a website, as well as a Google / Bing business page, but not necessarily WordPress.
