Is my wordpress site – at Hostinger – falling asleep on me?

[ad_1]

I’m having a problem with my WordPress site, and it appears to be related to the website going to ‘sleep’?

I’m using Hostinger’s Managed WordPress Hosting.

I have WordPress plugins that are to be continuously running, but it appears my website is going to sleep. If I access my site after not using it for 12-24 hours, it takes 15 seconds to load, then it’s really quick, and everything starts working again. One of the plugins is “MailPoet” which hosts images to mass emails we send out to our users.

No- I’m not a spammer. Yes we have a userbase of 700 users, most of whom don’t ever use the website, but they all use the emails we send them each week.

What could be causing my website to sleep? Is there any way to keep the website from going to sleep?

  1. You sure it’s not just caching that’s being generated, and your site is slow when no caching is being fetched?

  2. i am facing the same issue on a client site hosted on hostinger. it’s very annoying and hard to troubleshoot because it’s very inconsistent. i am pretty sure it’s just hostinger doing some shit in the backend to save resources or whatever. move to a better host if you can. r/webhosting has suggestions.
