I love Digital Ocean, but I have spent too much time managing everything. I’m running around 6 sites in one droplet. I’m sure it’s not as secure as it should be. Most everything is set to www-data for auto updates and plugins to work correctly. But I worry one site gets hacked and they will all go down.
I’ve seen several posts online suggesting server pilot or something similar. But it seems like the posts are always a few years old. Is a 3rd party control panel worth it in 2023?
Maybe I’m being overly paranoid about security risks. I enjoy managing my own server, but it can be time consuming.
Any pointers are appreciated.

I was in the same boat as you – I went with RunCloud (I’m on Linode), and I love it. No more hours wasted in SSH.
Their stack is very secure and configurable. And when setting up a new site you setup a new user acct so there no leakage.
