is theres still any actual demand left for static WP websites?

I am learning wordpress rn and ive heard so many times that even if i succed to find a client which is insane accomplishment in the first place he will pay almost nothing since people from 3rd world countries can do it for way cheaper and they kinda have ruined the market so its almost litteraly impossible to make a living out of it. How true is this? What are yall thoughts on this and experiences in 2024? Cuz i imagine smth like back 10 years it wouldve been way easier do to lesser competition. And in general if you have any tips on how can i increase my chances of suceeding in this path that ive chosen. But ive noticed the same trend goes for almost everything thats online from coding to content creation and websites are no exception. Could someone explain this? It feels like having a normal physical job would be WAY more sane and profitable (i am personally doing this due to health problems).

And yes ik this is the wrong sub but i had no idea where else i could ask this ive tried r/webdev but my post didnt show up there. Reddit moment.
