Is this a good business plan, has anyone tried this out before?

Was thinking of creating 3-4 “mock” sites of different companies in different industries, and then start cold emailing them to different local companies offering to make there site just like that, only with their content?

Was thinking of doing a roofing site, lawn care site, handyman site. There are TON of companies around me and a lot don’t even have sites.

  1. Sales is often timing and luck. You might catch a few businesses that have been meaning to create a new website or improve theirs. But you also might email a bunch of businesses that are doing fine without anything more than a Facebook page.

    I’d say it’s worth a try!

  2. Well, you gotta start somewhere. I’m sure it’ll cause a chain reaction.
    Prepare your prosposal(s)
    Best of luck!

  3. You’ve made a great start defining a target audience. You’ve discovered a problem they have, poor online presence.

Approach as many businesses as you can. Because it’s a numbers game.

Very few are going to give you an outright “yes, please build me a website”. They all know what a website is and they’re either a brand new business, or they have decided they don’t need a website.

There can be a number of reasons why they think they don’t need a website. Your job is to find out what their biggest problem is and assure them it is in their best interest and far outweighs any hesitancy they have. A website should make their business better and give them more freedom.

  4. Good idea.

I would add as part of proposal:

    * Presence on social networks (GoogleBusiness, Facebook, Instagram, X)
    * Hosting – starting with simple SiteGround, later rise to reseller

    Success.

  5. I can recommend something that will save you time. Instead of making full flash sites, you can show site kits from SeedProd or Divi. They are fully functional sites.

Once you get a client, you can purchase a plan from let’s say SeedProd, set up the site and charge a maintenance fee from your clients to have a regular income.

When multiple clients, you can have a stable monthly income.
