Is woocommerce able to calculate taxes based on location by default? Or do I need a third party solution?

  1. Yes, Woocommerce is able to calculate taxes based on: a) customer billing address, b) customer order address or c) shop address. You have to setup taxes by country or other geographic criteria.

  2. Tax rates can change on a whim, I think it’s best to use a 3rd party tool like Taxjar.
