Is WordPress Removing Draft as an Option?

[ad_1]

I used to create posts and they would auto save as drafts. This worked great for me because it meant I could go, jot down an idea, and if it seemed worthwhile, I could go flesh it out later.

The other day, I did that same process and noticed that the post has been published in its raw and unfinished state.

I went into the individual post and the option to switch it to a draft was gone.

Using QuickEdit from the list of posts, the option still exisits, so I switched it to a draft there.

I noticed I had another, older, post that was still in draft format so I opened that one up to edit it and have a look, and the option still exists (see image below).

Created another new post and the option is gone.

Is this a ‘feature’ of the newest version of WP?

  1. Are you using .com, or self-hosted? I’m self-hosted on version 6.1.1 and I have a Save Draft button next to the Preview button. The Publish button is still separate and blue, and to the right of Preview.
