I was thinking about a project of website, but I don’t know if WordPress is suitable on it. As I’ve been learning to code… from scratch maybe a century ago, I don’t know how people make websites nowadays.
It looks like that WordPress is more suitable to blog-like websites that’s why I am not sure.

The idea is a roleplay website containing a forum. People could sign in, create their character (fully text only), fullfilling their profile with information. The forum part would be to play (using full text). The website would have information, lore, etc. classed by categories.
But the forum part would have to be powerful and ergonomic enough for people to post a lot of text it on it.
Would it work ? I’m afraid for the whole members management part, I don’t know if WordPress can do this powerfully enough. Otherwise what tools would you use to do such a thing ?

WordPress should do fine. You’ll need some premium themes and plugins to make this work well.
Your description has a lot of room for specifics, but if forum is what you want you should check [bbpress]).
