Issue while uploading file and database backup

[ad_1]

I downloaded the backup of my website files and database before deleting the website to change the hosting plan from shared hosting to vps (with the same domain and hosting site). I managed to upload the files zipped and then extracted them, using filezilla and cloudpanel, but the webite and wordpress didn't seem to change at all and is stuck on the generic preview. I guessed the issue was the files that were already there before the upload, but when I replace them with the backup I get a mutitude of errors, sometimes 403, 404, critical error, etc.

Sadly, I don't have much knowledge when it comes to these subjects so I'd really appreciate any help on how to get the data to appear on the site again 🙂

  1. Hmm…it appears that you’re having trouble restoring your website after migrating it to a VPS. Here are some steps to help rectify the situation Check File Permissions, be sure that have been uploaded correctly. By default directories should read 755 while files read 644. Update wp-config.php, ensure this file contains database credentials that correspond with your new VPS. Database Import: Check for accurate importation of your database. Errors during importation sometimes lead to problems. Check .htaccess File, the .htaccess file might be misconfigured if you are receiving 403 errors. Try renaming it temporarily and see if this solves the problem. Disable Plugins, temporarily disable them by renaming the plugins folder then reactivating them one at a time to find out if there is any particular plugin causing trouble. Replace Core Files, to prevent any corrupted files consider re-uploading core WordPress files with exception of wp-content lead and wp-config.php. If issues persist, please check out the server error logs for more precise error messages, which can give you better idea of what is not okay?

  2. Show us a screenshot of your file system.

Did you import the database into phpmyadmin on the new server?
