Issues connecting google site kit

Hi there @lecieliphis,

Can you check whether you’re able to successfully complete Site Kit set up when using a Chrome browser incognito window? I ask as some browser extensions or features may block setup based on Site Kit set up using AMP.

If the same occurs, please share your Site Health information and we can review your current environment.

We also have a guide on the plugin website in relation to the error you’re encountering which has more information.

Note also that it looks like your site is using a coming soon, or maintainance mode type plugin or feature. You’ll need to temporarily disable this in order to Site Kit to recognize tags based on your site.

Hi James,

Thanks for your response. I’m logged into chrome via incognito. Do I need to uninstall the plugin in order to reactivate it and go through the entire process again?

You don’t need to uninstall Site Kit @lecieliphis, you just need to attempt set up once more. Let me know how you get on!

I’ve disabled the coming soon mode.

So, I deactivated the plugin and reactivated it again and tried again. When I try to connect it to my google account it states that sitekit already has some access, to 6 services and if I want to add additional access to hit continue.

Ok, so I think I got this to work now in the incognito mode.

Will I need to always use incognito mode for this?

Appreciate the update, and glad to hear you managed to get it working using an incognito session.

No. Now that you are connected, the plugin will remain connected until you disconnect. If you run into any problems, let us know!

If you wish to also check your regular browsing session, using your preferred browser, I can keep this support topic open while you check.

It’s all working just fine. Thanks for your help

Glad to hear it, and best of luck with your site. Reach out if you have any further questions and be sure to share your plugin feedback once you’ve tried out the Site Kit dashboard and plugin features.
