I’ve been hired by a business owner to run their google ads, and now he wants me to improve his existing site design. His site is in WP, built with elementor. I only know html, css and tailwind. Should I just do a couple tutorials in Elementor/WP, or how would you approach this?

***Improve existing site design*** is a very daunting phrase. If the past designer did a good job you will have a site with elementor global templates. So basically you just need to optimize those templates. If not I would suggest create a new website.

It might be intense, but you will leap frog stupid basic WP / Elementor stuff.

What experience do you have? The way you phrased this makes it sound like you don’t have any experience? You should pass on this till you get some experience under your belt.
I once hired a roofer to come fix some shingles that blew off in a storm. I did not ask them to check my foundation for cracks.
Why are we lumping together two very different skillsets?
WordPress is easy to use, hard to master. Elementor is, well, laggy.
I would just tell your client that you don’t have any experience, and see what he says.
You could probably do an *okay* job via teaching yourself, the problem is you will likely spend like 10x the amount of time you’re being paid for getting stuck on strange technical issues, etc.
