I’ve been working on a development site and discovered that JPG images are not being displayed in the Media Library, in the post editor or on the frontend. Disabling all plugins, custom code and activating theme 2022 didn’t change this so I downloaded WP again and performed a completely fresh install with 2022 activated. I haven’t applied any custom code. I uploaded 3 images to the Media Library; one in PNG format, one in WEBP format and one in JPG format. I checked the postmeta for the images and all are as expected (none missing and no empty fields). In the page editor, the Media Library and on the frontend, the only images displayed are PNG and WEBP.

I don’t believe this to be expected behaviour or am I missing something??
