I am attempting to create a website using WordPress for my business. Keep in mind, one week ago I knew absolutely nothing about how a website is created or developed. I had used Wix once in the past and it was easy and intuitive so I had figured that WordPress was the same just more robust and trusted. I have been struggling greatly even starting on my website, because I figured that I wouldn’t have to learn how to code, but now I’m feeling like I might have to to get anything productive done. Every single plugin or theme I install is pushing a premium version down my throat. I don’t want that. I’m already paying for other things for my website and don’t want more fees. I’m lost as to what to do.. I have contemplated finding a different method of creating a website multiple times now. I want to create a simple but unique ecommerce website and the learning curve (without a bloated plugin like elementor, \[as this reddit has profusely recommended\], so I’m using gutenberg) is so steep it’s seeming impossible:
One specific thing I’ve been stuck on is the header. I figured that would be the place to start as it would define the design style for the rest of my website. I created a graphic in adobe illustrator before I even created a website. The graphic was of trees and a logo for my business. I had a specific vision in mind: I would scroll down the website to view the products, and the logo would stay on the top of the screen and the pine trees would get smaller quickly and then fade away. I’ve been pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to do this. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thank you
