Language Translation Plug-in and SEO Impact

[ad_1]

Hi – I have a client who’s looking to have the website available in 5 other languages. The site mainly consists of static pages, but it’s quite large so there are some considerations I’d like to get your input on:

1. If site has a few thousand pages, is it practical to have all the pages translated? This isn’t an e-commerce site, but rather more informational. Is it normal to have every page translated or selected pages?
2. I’ve looked at various solutions such as WPML and Polylang. Which one is better? I’m told that you can purchase both and they can work together. In what cases would I need to have both of these tools?
3. Would I need to have a paid plug-in if the site has a few thousand pages?
4. Do all the tools work similar in that it creates a duplicate of a page in a particular language? So if I have an English page and want it translate into 5 other languages – I would have 6 pages. So 6 Home Pages, 6 Contact Us pages, 6 About Us pages, and so on. Would it this be a burden to host all these pages and with multiplying the amount of pages impact page speed and loading? How would this impact SEO? I’ve heard that the plug-in can be used on conjunction with Yoast SEO.
