Lifetime License vs. Subscription

[ad_1]

Hi all,

I’m fairly new to WordPress web design. I’ve done some initial designs for friends and a small company last year, and decided to use Astra Pro/Spectra for these projects. It works well, though obviously, it has its downsides, but I’m generally happy with the results.

But now, as I’m thinking of taking a more professional approach, I’m considering using Bricks as my standard builder. This leads me to a question I’d love to get your opinions on: What do you think about lifetime vs. subscription licenses?

I usually lean towards lifetime licenses when available, as they offer a sort of financial stability. Sure, they’re more expensive upfront, but in my opinion, the cost of the builder compared to all other expenses isn’t that enormous.

On the other hand, I’m skeptical about anything truly being “lifetime.” Companies change, and at the end of the day, they need to keep generating revenue. So, even if the product doesn’t disappear after a few years, I’m betting there will be a new version, maybe called “Pro++,” which would require an additional license anyway…

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this!

Thanks!
Tommy

  1. I can’t tell you how many ‘lifetime’ licenses I have been burned on. Heck, even Cpanel cheated me on their lifetime deal.

I have had wonderful luck with a lifetime license to Elegant Theme’s Divi tool which is an excelled builder and theme… all you really need to make gorgeous and fast designs.

As for the bricks tool, I would say that if you are determined to use that, then just go for it and grab the lifetime license. If you wait, you will just feel like all the monthly payments you made while waiting were wasted.
