This is not a problem at all – you can configure that in the options. See Settings – Lightbox with Photoswipe, tab “General”:
[x] Fix links to scaled images (e.g.”image.jpg” instead of “image-scaled.jpg”)
If you turn this option off, the scaled version of the image will be used instead of the original version. By default this is enabled because many users prefer to show the original image in the lightbox and not a scaled down version.
There is also another option to fix links which contain specific image sizes.
