Local WP Installation to Neocities – setting “Home” link?

[ad_1]

Hello! I’m currently running a local installation of WordPress on my home computer (using XAMPP to run the servers), which I upload as a static site to my Neocities account. The set up works great and I have no issues other than a couple of times when I messed it up, only having to re-install the whole thing once. Let’s not talk about that.

In the theme I have set up, there’s an option to turn the site title into a link to the home page. On most WP installations this would go to your root address – makes sense. But since this is a local installation, the link is to `localhost` since the URLs in the settings are all set to `https://localhost/` in order to work on my computer. So when I upload to neocities…the title link doesn’t work.

My workaround right now is that I added a link to the header that simply states “Home” that points to the neocities root page, and turned off the “turn title into link to home”. But is there any other way to do this that doesn’t involve having a “Home” button manually?

I can’t seem to turn the title into a link manually. If I change the URL in the settings, the site breaks on the local level.

Thanks for any advice!
