Localhost XAMPP not recognizing my website

[ad_1]

Hey! Here's what happened:

I'm using XAMPP as my Localhost for developing my website. XAMPP is been facing some problems initializing MySQL, and this is happening worldwide for a few weeks. There is no easy universal solution to this error, but apparently reinstalling XAMPP works, so I did that.

Before reinstalling, I created two backup folders of the content in both "htdocs" and "mysql/data", so that my website would not be lost. But when I transfered those files to the new folders, my website is not being shown. I noticed that when I type "localhost/wordpress", the "Page Not Found" default page shows up, and when I type "localhost/wordpress/wordpress" the default theme page shows up.

Since I'm new to developing pages with WordPress and using Localhost/XAMPP, I'm not sure if I did something wrong. Could someone please help me?

I have the latest version of WordPress, the 3.3.0 version of XAMPP and I'm on Windows 11.

  1. I always install XAMPP on another older machine. Less confusing. Easy to test.
