LocalWP alternatives?

[ad_1]

I’ve been searching how to make a website without needing a domain or hosting, and I stumbled upon Localwp.com. It’s a cool tool that lets you create a WordPress website offline and then share it online using a live link.

The thing that I don’t like is that you can’t customize the link or the login details with Localwp.com. That got me thinking: Is there a way to change these things?

I’ve searched around, but I can’t seem to be able to do so.

Do you know of any other similar tools to LocalWP? I’m simply looking for a tool to create a WordPress site offline, share it online, and ideally, migrate it to a hosting plan when needed.

  1. Local live links are for temporarily sharing the wp page for demonstrations and whatnot, it’s not really meant to act as an interim host.

You could spin up a local WAMP server with opendns or something but honestly, LocalWP is what you probably should be using.

  2. You don’t need live link – simply port forward traffic through your router. Buy a domain name, point the dns to your home ip.

Live link is for sharing with clients, etc – not hosting.

  3. I just run xampp on localhost but I find free domains and have hosting at places that allow 20 sites on an account. I always have spare domains, somehow.
