Locked out of my WordPress, no hope. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE THIS.

Hi there all, so I wanted to get back into writing articles and I went to login to my wordpress as I got a new laptop recently and I’m of course not logged in so I go to log in and it won’t let me, so I tried getting a password reset and I’m met with ‘wordpress error: There is no account with that username or email address.’ I’m 100% sure of what my email is, I know my password and I also know my username and I’ve also tried every other one of my emails too, nothing is working, I really don’t wanna lose all my drafts and access to my one and only wordpress and I’m not interested in making a new account.

I would go on the wordpress forum for help but you have to be logged in for that which WordPress won’t let me do, what can I do? I’m at my wits end here.

  1. You have a few options.

If you have access to the database, you could reset the password there. If you’re not sure how to do that, you web host surely can help.

This video demonstrates a database password reset procedure:

Have you tried logging in from the old laptop? If you can, you might be able to recover the password there.

  2. PHPMyAdmin

    Look for wp_users table

Edit your user account’s password field: set MD5 encryption, enter a new password in the password field and hit go.
