If you have a security plugin, this could prevent you from successfully logging in. As a test, you could deactivate it via FTP by deleting the folder under /wp-contents/plugins/.

What message do you get when you submit the login form?
You can try deactivating all the plugins and see if it makes any difference to check if any of the plugins is causing this problem. If it helps, you can activate plugins one-by-one to detect the culprit.
Problem might also be with the theme you are using. You can try switching to one of the default themes just to confirm the same.
