Hi! Not sure if this is the right sub to post in, so please let me know if I should take this somewhere else.
Started working at this smallish company in May as a content marketing specialist. Supposed to mostly liaison with the third-party agency they’ve been working with for website maintenance, SEO, ads, and content, but turns out they actually want to transition to an in-house team as they’re not happy with the agency.
The company’s two websites are poorly built on WordPress. I know just enough to know that everything’s outdated. I’ve been selling the execs on building a website (for a new project) on and migrating one of the existing websites onto HubSpot. I owe a lot of my digital marketing knowledge to HubSpot’s courses and I thought that finally purchasing their Starter CRM Suite (marketing, sales, service, CMS, service) was just a natural progression. Been talking to a rep and their best selling point was that a nondev like me would be able to handle the two websites without a dev by my side (because my company balks at the cost of having an in-house dev).
I was ready to sign a project proposal with a HubSpot partner agency who’ll be handling the build, branding, and redesign, but today I learned that the migration service I was told came free with the Starter CRM Suite is actually only available for the higher plans. Now I’m starting to doubt everything and seeing negative reviews about HubSpot’s CMS.
Should I just stick with WordPress and ask for a full-stack dev to help me fix the existing site as well as build the new site? Are there other CMSs that I could handle on my own without a dev? (Does such a setup even exist?)
