Looking for advice: how to get used to the seemingly-abysmal Blocks system with their extremely limited editing capabilities?

[ad_1]

I’ve been using WP since 2015 and obviously, there have been major improvements since then.

But the latest changes, more specifically the Blocks and Full Site editing are driving me insane.

The blocks have absolutely bare minimum editing options (can’t center a button, can’t add hover color to a button, can’t modify the output of blocks easily, can’t globally modify the behavior of a block without touching code, WooCommerce Checkout block has no advanced editing capabilities, a lot of customization plugins no longer with Blocks, …)

It seems like WordPress just pushed out an alpha version of a very new product out to the public. I understand that it’s the future (and in many ways, better than the old school Classic Editor) but I find it very difficult to use it since editing is very limited. It seems like a poor implementation of other page builders to a point that I’m going back to creating my themes from scratch using good old PHP.

I’m not sure if this is the case with everyone or if it’s just me and I just need to look at it from a different POV.

Any suggestions? Am I missing anything?

Looking for tips and guides. Thanks
