Looking for GA alternatives

[ad_1]

Hi all,

I manage a few websites at work and we recently had an issue with Google Analytics, ending in losing access to more than 10 GA properties without any explanation.
We tried to solve this issue but Google was completely useless, so the next step was to set up new properties, but of course, we can’t access any historical data of those websites.

Now here’s my problem: I don’t need anything fancy, but it’s there a WordPress plugin that can show me HISTORICAL data as well as new data? I need to see some basic stats like top 10 visited blog posts, etc but can’t seem to find any plugin that offers historical data, and that’s my biggest need.

Any insight will be appreciated, please help this very desperate person to get a decent answer to her assigned clients.

Thanks!!

  1. I may be missing something here, but if you do not have access to the properties that your historical data was in, I don’t think there is a plug-in or tool that can backfill this data. Most analytics tools use a tracking code to initiate the collecting of data on your site.

  2. WordPress does not record any analytics data on its own, so it is not possible for a plugin you install today to be able to show you data from the past.

The data doesn’t exist unless something is recording it.

  3. While it’s true you can’t backfill stats as others have said, some tools like SEMRush will give you traffic estimates historically. It’s not a replacement for an analytics tool though. And it might not work for very small sites. We use it for competitor analysis.

  4. I’m not sure if Independent Analytics might do the trick, but it’s worth the try

  5. I use Independent Analytics which does the job but at larger sites or larger date ranges it has perf issues. For example works great for me for the same month, but if I run a YTD reporter… it just wont work for me.

but ive had months of 300,000 page views and it worked aggregating the entire month of data
