Looking for Guidance on Building a website

Hello everyone, I could really use some help with my idea.

My idea is to create a portal that brings together supply and demand of specific task within a specific industry. It should work so that as either a provider or seeker, you log in to my website (via Google or Facebook login), and from there, you can create a task as a provider or a task as a seeker. These tasks will then be displayed on a consolidated list on the main page (list page) of the website that anyone can see (whether they are a user or not). To be able to contact either the provider or seeker, one must log in to the site, from where you can request contact information or something similar. When/if a task is connected to the right people (so the task is/gets completed), it should disappear from the list as it is no longer relevant.

I told some colleagues about the idea today (developers in a tech company), and they told me that I may need something other than WordPress. Additionally, they told me that for the idea to be realized, it would need to use a database and some kind of plugin for Google/Facebook login. They spent a lot of time talking about GDPR treatment of personal data if users are to communicate with each other on my website. However, I just think there should be a function that requests contact information such as phone number or email, which only should be possible to request for after being logged in on the website.

Could it all be done within WordPress?

Hope someone is able to help me or lead me in the right direction.
