I currently have a site build using the Fumio theme on Ghost, as it was for a portfolio/projects site that was mostly just for advertising completed projects and directing people to a contact page and/or discord.
However, while ghost is great for just blog/newsletter stuff, and the Fumio theme allowed project logs (with some slightly awkward workarounds to get them working properly as their own post-type), I’m looking to expand it with things that are a chore to add into Ghost like reviews/testimonials and woocommerce et al.
I used to use WordPress back in like… I dunno, 2010 or something, and I moved away cos a lot of the options that were accessible for non-coders like me were very bloated/slow. (I can code a bit, and know html and css to an intermediate kind of level, but will mostly be using pre-existing blocks and such where possible as I don’t want to be spending weeks making this site!)
So yeh, I have seen that Kadence might fit my use case, but while I’ve heard the free version is pretty good, I noticed that if I do need/want to get the pro version in future it’s by far the most expensive. Probably a bit much.
Bricks, Blocksy, Greenshift, Spectra and GeneratePress I’ve all seen variously recommended here and there reading posts from the last couple of years.
So I guess the thing is what would people recommend, to someone who wants to be able to put together a good looking site (maybe with some freedom to make the site a bit more unique than the standard wordpress-site-1002093993).
Only one site, and preferably not needing a lot of indepth coding (though some tinkering with code is fine).
Availability of a variety of nice looking / useful / functional blocks, without having to keep paying out for new block sets etc.
Free would be better, of course, but i’m happy to pay a reasonable amount for a good product that will fulfil all my needs for the next couple/few years.
I dunno if there’s anything else I should say, probably rambled on enough, if tthere’s anything helpful just ask, or recommend away!!
Thankyou
