If you purchased a theme from ThemeForest, the theme files are in a ZIP inside the ZIP. You don’t upload the zip you downloaded – you need to extract the theme out of that zip… Inception zips. Consult the documentation.
For future reference, it’s more helpful to us if you post the name and the URL of the theme.
You’re installing it under appearance > theme and it’s Not a plugin correct? Which theme is it?

If it’s a zip folder see what’s inside it if it contains another zip folder u have to upload that one happened to 2 times
