I’m currently managing a WordPress site on AWS with the html directory hosted on elastic file system. I’m seeing a *lot* of read and write activity, I mean like 200+ GB per day according to AWS cost explorer. The entire directory is < 900 MB. Now I can get the reads are due to lots of queries, but the writes?? I’ve looked and I can’t find anything obvious that’s being (re)written frequently, and something certainly isn’t growing at 200 GB per day.
It’s a site that’s being nurse-maided through its senescence, so not a huge priority, but I’m really curious and perplexed where all these written bytes are coming from (or rather going to). Suggestions?
