Making changes to and editing forms of translated WPML Avada sites

[ad_1]

I’m making changes to a site that has been built with Avada that has a version in English and a version in French. I’ve added social media icons to the English site and am trying to do so with the French site as well, however because the site has been translated with WPML it doesn’t let me add the social media icons.

There’s also a form on both sites that sends submissions to an admin’s email, however I can’t figure out how to change the email for the french form, which is currently not delivering submissions.

I would also like to make changes to the French site’s menu items (changing the names and where they link to) but cannot figure this out either.

How can I make both these changes to the French site? I wasn’t involved in the construction of the site at all and am coming in to make small changes after the fact. Have also never used Avada and am horrified that I’ll mess up the whole site. thank you

  1. You should lookup some WPML documentation first before working with it

Actually the french site is just a virtual directory (assuming english is lang #1, french #2).

    it works like this:
you make changes in the primary language. then you translate the content -> it shows up in secondary language.
do not edit any of the french pages directly.

  2. Go to WPML > Translation Manager. Select your form or menu. Translate

Something like that. WPML is heavily integrated so you can also go Appearance > Menus and choose language there. Same for WPForms (if you’re using that)
