Managed to loose custom post types and taxonomies on multi site

[ad_1]

I manage a multisite with different sites that have linked content, so there are some post types and taxonomies that I want to use multisite-wide. I had everything organized very neatly, but I wanted to add one extra taxonomy. I copied this taxonomy to my network CPTUI extended and it worked but it removed all the existing post types and taxonomies. It did say something about adjusting the settings, but I didn’t read it as overwriting (though I’m known for my sloppy reading).

I’m glad that post types and taxonomies are not really gone but unpredictably present. For example on my subsite /verhalen I do have all my custom post types (Bewoners, Collectie&Archief, Huis&Tuin, Omgeving and Geschiedenis) available, but I miss there I miss the taxonomies. The taxonomies are available on subsite /margaretha in the ordinary posts, but in the custom post type Brief (made with ACF because I needed custom fields) I only have some of the taxonomies.

I have two questions:

  1. How do I get my posts and taxonomies properly back?
  2. If I make a new post type or taxonomy, I usually start on a test site. If I want to move it to the network, do I have to rebuilt it there in stead of copying? I’m not just a sloppy reader, but also a sloppy copier 😉

I hope you can help me, thanks in advance!
