Manually adjusting the baseline/vertical alignment of a single word in a paragraph?

[ad_1]

Is there a way, plug-in or otherwise, to adjust the baseline/vertical alignment of a single word in a paragraph? My boss insists I use these large quote marks, so there’s no wiggle room on that front as he’s very stubborn. He wants them on the same baseline as the rest of the text. Not only do they sit too high, but they mess with the leading and create big gaps.

This is just the basic paragraph block, but I’ve also tried the classic and some plug-ins that added additional features to both editors.

I come from and mostly work with print, but I’m having to learn more about webdev, specifically wordpress, for the job. I don’t mind that, but it means I’m still pretty new to all this. Thanks in advanced!
