**TL;DR: What is the recommended max width/height of images nowadays?**
If I build a site myself I try to do all the image preparation before uploading them to WordPress. If someone else is uploading, I try to use plugins to auto resize + auto optimize
the main tasks before uploading: **resize + rename + tinypng**
But what is the ideal size? Is max width and max height of 2000px already too little (e.g. when the image is used full-width and the visitor shows it on a larger screen)
Of course the right answer is “it depends” but I try to use bulk-edit on my desktop so that I can give all images in bulk the same max width/height.
I think and hope if the image is used not full-width that a thumbnail will be outputted instead of the full-image size
