“Media library caption” not displaying on some slides

[ad_1]

I’m seeing an issue on our site, http://www.wellspresbyterian.org/, using MetaSlider Version 3.27.13 with WordPress 6.1 and PHP 7.4.

When Captions are set to “Media library caption” for the first five slides, no caption appears; for subsequent slides they appear. All slides have a Caption in the Media Library.

For a slide that doesn’t display a caption, when I set Caption to “Enter manually” (which automatically enters the Caption text from the Media Library), the caption does appear on the slider. So that’s a work-around, but it shouldn’t be needed.

I see in the HTML that the <div class=”caption-wrap”> block is not even generated for the problem slides.

I also turned on WordPress debugging and didn’t see any obvious problems in the debug. log file.

This behavior is seen both in the Preview and on the web page.

I created a new slider and re-added the first few slides and it displays the captions correctly. This is a pretty old site, so perhaps there is some legacy setting in there that is causing the problem.

In the end, I deleted the first five slides on the Home page slider and re-added them again and that resolved my problem. So hopefully this work-around can help other users if they run into this problem.
