Using Reddit as a last resort while support takes forever to get back to me.
Website has been acting up lately. MemberPress has been smooth sailings until now. In addition to MP, I’m using the “User Switching” plugin that lets me switch to members’ accounts to troubleshoot or renew their memberships. Until yesterday.
For some reason, user switching won’t perform well anymore (I’ve even tried downloading other switching plugins, all seem to encounter the same issue). When I switch to a user, it redirects to my own front-site-facing account page. e.g. if I switch to John Smith’s account, instead of taking me to his account page, it takes me to Jane Doe’s (my own) account page.
Current workaround for this (for when I switch to members with active memberships) is to perform click on different pages, do some refreshing, and suddenly John Smith’s account appears. Fine, can live with this temporary solution. But now we have to switch to an inactive member’s account (to renew their membership), and unfortunately, the workaround no longer works.
Switching to an inactive/expired member’s account :
1) takes me to my own account page. After performing the workaround,
2) It shows me the default locked-page message I initially set up (“Please log in or become a member to view this page”). Once I see this, I have hope that I’m seeing the message because I successfully signed into John Smith’s account and all I have to do is renew membership. But alas,
3) the payment/registration form (new page) shows me either my own account information – as if I’m signing myself (Jane Doe) up for membership, or a completely blank form (where normally we at least see John Smith’s personal information pre-filled out, and only allows us to enter payment information fields).
I’ve purged cache a million times, even went ahead and deleted our caching plugin (only using our host, WP Engine’s, default caching now)). But still running into issues. this is a very specific problem, but if absolutely anyone has a workaround to this or can figure out what on earth is going on, I’ll be forever indebted.
