Migrating from WordPress to Shopify

[ad_1]

Hello!

I currently use WP and Siteground for hosting for my website, but I’m about to move to Shopify. I was just wondering what the necessary actions are to take so that everything goes smoothly, and if I have missed anything with my plan. I use:

* WordPress for website
* Siteground for hosting
* Zoho for domain based email
* GoDaddy for domain hosting (where I bought the domain)
* MailChimp for email marketing

What I have thought out to do:

* Remove Siteground name servers on GoDaddy, connect domain to Shopify
* Remove Zoho records (CNAME, TXT, MX) in Siteground and add to the Shopify DNS
* Deactivate Mailchimp API in WP and add new in Shopify

Did I miss anything? Am I an idiot? Please, help! 🙂

  1. You don’t move your email – Shopify doesn’t have email (unless they added it recently but I doubt it). If you change your name server, you’ll lose it. It’s better to just implement the necessary Shopify dns records [described here]). I don’t know why you’d disable Mailchimp either?
