When I first built my site, I renamed the WP content folder configuration 8 years ago when I was brand new to WordPress and was following some advice concerning security. I have looked back at that over the years with a hint of regret and wondered when that would come into play and bite me!
That day has arrived, I can’t clone a staging site with modified WP content structure.
Plugins, themes, etc are all in a modified folder. Can anyone give me steps or point me in the direction to find the process to change back to the WordPress’ default folder structure on a live site?

What exactly did you modify? Have you tried converting it back to the normal WP folder structure?
