Move website from index template only to various pages without a plugin

[ad_1]

We started a nonprofit event website by just doing everything in the index template—with no pages. I’m finding a few problems with that. One, we want to edit the site on Jetpack on mobile while we’re away from a computer, and Jetpack can’t edit templates, just pages. Two, we want to expand to multiple pages, and that’s difficult if not impossible to do when everything is in the template.

Is there an easy way to move all the content that is in the template now to a page? I’ve tried cutting and pasting the raw HTML, or alternatively the blocks, but the column sizes don’t come out correctly. Is there any danger to figuring this out and then re-setting the index template, removing all its customization?

We have a premium account but not a business account, so using a plugin isn’t an option, at least without spending a ton more money to upgrade to business just for this one issue. Maybe it’s only a matter of moving the content as I already have and then adjusting columns?

We now know in the future to only make site wide, every-page style edits on the template and leave content to the pages.

Thanks in advance for any help.
