Hello everyone, hope your day is going well 🙂
I have a client asking to make his website multilingual.
The website is built with Elementor page builder (free tier)
My client asked me to make it a multilingual, however he said that he doesn’t want to translate all the content, just some.
My first idea was to duplicate every page and translate parts of it that he wants, and parts to remove. Then to make navigation for each language.

Is this a bad idea / practice?
It seems pretty straightforward, and its not a huge site, but Im asking for second opinion.
Any thoughts?

A website I work with uses the GTranslate plugin to auto translate everything (not great), but you can then go in and edit the translated pages with a real human translation (better). All things considered, it is a decent solution to needing a site in multiple languages but not having the capacity to translate every single bit manually.

Yes, that is a bad idea. There is more to translated content than just the content. There are code changes needed as well, like hreflang and canonical links.
Use a [multilingual plugin]).
I’ve used the WPML plugin for multilingual WP projects, it’s compatible with Elementor. Here’s a quick guide:
The free WPML plugin should be enough for your needs.
EDIT: official site for WPML download:
As any major change, good idea to backup everything and work on a staging site before touching the live site.
