Multiple WordPress instances for students projects

[ad_1]

Hi all !

I’ve been a freelance developer for 15 years and this year I have the opportunity to teach web design courses at my local university. It is an optional course of 20 hours for engineering students.

With my first class, I had them each build a website on [Wordpress.com]). But being used to the .org version, I found the .com very complicated to use for novices, especially the themes that work with the editor or not…

I would like to use version 6 of .org but giving them the possibility of each creating and managing their own website… For my next class, I would have about fifteen students. What are my solutions? How to “share” a hosting in 15 different wordpress instances?

Thanks for reading and thanks for your help!

  1. If heavy duty WP CLI / Apache scripting isn’t your thing, WordPress Multisite might be your best bet. Single WP instance, with unlimited “sites” within it, and relatively simple to setup – only requires a single domain for hosting.
