Good point with Multisite, this should be best activated network-wide, as translation files are shared for the whole network. We‘ll make sure to enforce this in the next update.
As for MultilingualPress: not yet, as it‘s a paid plugin. But we‘ll see what we can do 🙂 I don‘t expect there to be any issues though.

I network activated it on one of my larger multisite (with MultilingualPress) production projects and it seems to be running fine. I’ll leave it activated and see how it goes. Btw this project also has Redis Object Cache and NGINX page caching enabled.
