My client got a trojan.js.imgfake malware alert which was inside an image in the wp-content/uploads folder. What is it and why is there almost no info about the malware?

Famous cybersecurity plugins like WordFence do not have any resource about this imgfake.malware. A little known virus scanner is showing the malware. Even its website does not have any explanation about it.

  1. WordFence, despite what in general it does is really good, doesn’t get everything, especially for people not paying for a subscription to get “known” items sooner than than the free version.

What is the name of the “little known” virus scanner. what is the file, if you open it with a pure text editor, is it code?
