  1. If you don’t renew your domain name, then it will stop working shortly after expiry. After a few days it will go into a holding pattern, which is often upto 90 days (3-months) where it will resolve to either nothing or advertisements.

    Your domain, during this time, will be on auction for a new buyer. The price will likely be higher than the cost to renew it, as it may be deemed to have traffic. Given it’s a used domain, I would imagine a domain squatter will win the auction and own your domain for a number of years until they either sell it to someone else, or decide not to renew it, at which point the process starts over again.

    Ultimately…. If you want to continue to use your domain… either renew it, or transfer it to another registrar before it expires. DO NOT LET IT EXPIRE.
