It’s a brand new site. I know full well plugins is often what causes WordPress to be slow and clunky. I have tried to be careful and only install what is really needed. There was however a few plugins that were installed then uninstalled.
I am using astra theme. I heard astra is fast with good SEO.
It’s an eccomerce shop.
I am using redis and nginx cache.
The main thing slow currently is the checkout. I went and bought something from my shop to test. After hitting pay, it just froze on processing for like a minute then I think it even gave an error processing try again. Meanwhile it actually did pay for the order and work.
That is terrible, can’t be having that. I am using woo commerce with woo payments.
I have a total of 18 plugins on this brand new site. Every image compressed and optimized before upload. Plugins like updraft backups, Wordfence security, wooccommerce etc nothing too bloated.
The site also had 600 jobs behind schedule. It was actually after I fixed that by running the jobs manually via wp cli that the site got slower! It wasn’t so bad before that.
Cron jobs, Its probably still not working properly. I think it just keeps missing running those jobs.
The site is running on a 2 cpu quite high spec digital ocean docker instance. Utilization of resources is minimal.
Honestly I am new to WordPress and I don’t really know wtf I’m doing. If anyone can help would be appreciated. Let me know of you need logs or screenshot.
