My site’s broken and I don’t know what caused it or what to do *DESPERATE*

So, I’ve been building a site using Elementor Pro in my internship and It’s been going super well, but suddenly the site broke little by little. It started with the styling, then the image-sizes, then layout and then it just completely broke down to the core HTML (see image).

I’m using Elementor’s Hello-theme, and while the site looks the worst when the theme’s active, the site is also broken when i just activate the standard WordPress-theme.

Details:

No custom code

I tried the standard “deactivate-all-plugins-and-then-activate-them-one-by-one-to-find-the-culprit”-method

When i open the inspector i get a million “Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 ()”-error messages, all pointing to either a .js, .css og .png.

Elementor-support is essentially ghosting me at this point, but they might get back to me

Our web-hosting service nor elementor could find anything wrong with the system-info-file

I really hope this post is accepted, I’ve been scratching my head a couple of days now and I’m getting increasingly more frustrated, so I hope someone have maybe had the same experience, or that someone’s got an option that i didn’t try yet.

I can provide further information if it’s needed (it probably is)

  1. I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’re facing with your website. Here are a few steps that you can take to try and resolve the issue:

    1. Clear your browser cache and cookies: Sometimes, cached files can cause issues with the way a website loads. Clearing your browser’s cache and cookies might help fix the problem.

    2. Check the server logs: 500 errors usually indicate that there is a problem on the server side. Check the server logs to see if there are any errors or warnings that might give you a clue about what’s causing the issue.

    3. Try disabling caching plugins: If you’re using any caching plugins, try disabling them and see if that fixes the issue. Caching plugins can sometimes cause conflicts with other plugins and themes.

    4. Contact your web hosting provider: If the issue persists, contact your web hosting provider and ask if they can help you troubleshoot the problem. They might be able to identify any server-side issues that could be causing the problem.

    5. Try a different theme: If you’re still having issues, try switching to a different theme and see if that fixes the issue. This will help you determine if the issue is specific to your current theme.

    6. Reinstall Elementor: If none of the above steps work, try reinstalling Elementor. Sometimes, files can become corrupted or damaged during the installation process, which can cause issues with the way the plugin works.

I hope these steps help you resolve the issue you’re facing. If you’re still having issues, don’t hesitate to reach out to megasweb.com

  2. DM me your URL (or reply here) and I’ll take a quick look but I can’t guarantee any results 😅

Also try clearing the cache in elementor tools as well as the browser cache, bit may be that elementor generated new CSS and JS files which your browser is trying to find but they are not there anymore.

Also, try using incognito mode or a different browser, to confirm or exclude the above cache issue

  3. >the server responded with a status of 500

This means an error occured on the server. Very strange that it is happening with media files. You can look in the server error logs for the exact error message and post that here for additional support. At the end of the day, this is more likely something that you host may have to help you resolve.

  4. The 500 error messages you’re getting could be an indication that something is going wrong on the server. Check your server logs for any error messages that could help identify the issue. You could also try contacting your web hosting provider to see if they can help.

  5. That site has been hacked by lazy load. It needs to be completely removed and a backup restored. Then you need to check plugins folder for plugins not uploaded by you. I just had this on a client site.
