MySQL 8 Compatibility | WordPress.org

[ad_1]

I know this has been asked before and I have looked at some answers via a forum search, but since I am not tech savvy, i was hoping someone could answer my question specifically.

This morning I received 3 site health suggestions. One was to define a default theme, which I have done. the next was to enable some php modules, which my web host did.

The third was to update to MySQL 8, but suggested it might break my website if I did. I asked my web host and they said: “Regarding the concern about the SQL server, please note that your website is hosted in a shared environment running MySQL 5.7. If you want, we can transfer your account to another shared server that uses MySQL 8. But before that, you need to ensure that your website is compatible with the latest version of MySQL, otherwise, it may lead to breakage of the site. You can seek help from your web developer regarding this.”

I don’t know how to check this myself, so was hoping that someone here could advise me. Please?

I have a very simple wordpress website with wordpress 6.5.4. I have one theme in use “Three Blog” and one inactive default theme Twenty Twenty-Four. I use 4 plugins: Akismet, Classic Widgets, FSM Custom Featured Image Caption & Mailchimp. That is it.
