I can’t get my Primary Navigation menu to show. I changed theme to Appleton, and since then it’s not worked at all. Here is what I see, below.

1) When I go to Customize, it allows me to edit the menu, so I do:

2) This doesn’t update the menu on the site, at all. There is no menu. This same page prompts me to go to Site Editor, so I go there next.

3) When I edit the Navigation in Site Editor, I click ‘Primary’ …
​
4) And it says it’s empty. There is no option to edit or add.

I am pulling my hair out after many hours. How on earth do I fix this? I don’t want another theme. I’ve tried changing themes so that I re-activate Appleton, but nothing gets fixed. Please help.

PS I am clearly not a CSS guru. I haven’t touched any of the advanced CSS/HTML options on this platform.
