Need a list of all posts on a blog

[ad_1]

Backstory: I formerly did web design using the WP platform but that’s a different role than I’m in now.

My current employer has a WordPress-based blog with a large number of posts spanning 8 or so years. The posts are in-depth with multimedia and embeds and attachments, etc. and I need an index of every blog post title with a link to the published post. Unfortunately, I only have access to post/etc. All of the core WordPress tools/settings/plugins/etc. are locked down.

I’ve tried talking someone with backend access through how to export the site, but they gave up when it took some time processing. Not knowing how the site is hosted, I’m not even sure they’d be able to run a full, traditional export without hitting the PHP timeout limit.

Rather than work through the weeks-long bureaucracy of getting myself rights to admin the install and trying to make an export using the tools WP has, I’m hoping there’s a quick and dirty solution using RSS that can pull the posts down and dump them into RSS/XML/whatever. Maybe a plugin or service that does something like this? Even being able to grab them by month would make it infinitely more doable than manually copy/pasting titles and URL links for hundreds of posts.

Appreciate any thoughts.

  1. As long as api access isn’t disabled you can pull a list of all posts with the wordpress rest api without having any login etc. If you pm me the URL i’ll get it for you.
